Agriculture and forestry projects
For the last 10 years, I have been supporting the people of my area in order for them to increase the productivity of their land. For example, I have made proposals to the governement of my country so we can have money to hire outside consultants in agronomy to teach my people how to use their land. I also help them to put their resources together so they can buy fertilisers in bulk and then have a better price for it. I was also able to get trees for a reforestration program and many villagers did beneficiate from it. We teach the people about the need of reforestration in our area
Cow breeding project
We cannot talk about a really elaborate project here, but this is the beginning...let me explain. As much as getting a house in western societies can be a leverage for your future, getting a first cow for us can mean a lot. First, a cow can give us milk. It can also reproduce itself and we can sell the babies. Cows can also produre fertilisers for our agriculture. Once a farmer has a cow, it can be used to feed it's family as well as brigning money when you sell the baby cow. For food or to another person who wants to keep it. I have been able to get some money from Canada and I bought a few cows. I have put them in the hands of local formers that are taking care of them and now we want it to expand. We teach people how to insiminate them, how to use the manure as fertilizers...We believe that this program will be positive for our people in the long run.
Coral regenating project
If you can come to my area, please do not miss visiting this project. This is for us a program we invest our time and who need encouragement from everybody interested in preserving corals. We have a website dedicated to this project at www.ourcoralgarden.weebly.com. This project is in the long term and we will see the outcome only in many many years. The villagers work on it because we tell them that this is worthed, but still if you can come visit now, it would really make a difference for us. Quickly, I can tell you that we are working in regenerating coral in a small Bay on the West coast of Lombok. The village living in the bay was destroying the corals (to feed their families) until the day we have been able to convince them that it would be better to preserve it. We are really proud of this project, but we need your support. Visit the website for more details.
